Not seasonally adjusted unemployment rates grew in 65 of North Carolina's 100 counties in May. Fifty-nine counties had rates that were either at or below the state's 12.7 percent not seasonally adjusted rate, which increased 0.2 of a percentage points from the April revised unemployment rate.
Unemployment rates increased in nine of North Carolina’s 15 Metropolitan Statistical Areas.
