North Carolina's unemployment rate declined from the annually revised December rate of 6.1 percent. This is 0.4 of a percentage point lower than the U.S. rate at 6.3 percent.
Seasonally adjusted Total Nonfarm employment decreased by 3,200 in January to 4,432,600.
