North Carolina's unemployment rate at 5.2% declined from the revised February rate of 5.7 percent. This is 0.8 of a percentage point lower than the U.S. rate at 6.0 percent.
Seasonally adjusted Total Nonfarm employment increased by 17,300 in March to 4,469,600.
