North Carolina's unemployment rate at 5.0% declined from the revised March rate of 5.2 percent. This is 1.1 percent lower than the U.S. rate at 6.1 percent.
Seasonally adjusted Total Nonfarm employment decreased by 5,800 in April to 4,459,800.
