North Carolina's unemployment rate at 4.8% declined from the revised April rate of 5.0 percent. This is 1.0 percent lower than the U.S. rate at 5.8 percent.
Seasonally adjusted Total Nonfarm employment increased by 1,400 in May to 4,461,700.
