The N.C. Department of Commerce announces the launch of the AccessNC™ app, the first native mobile application for economic development that allows site selectors to search available properties in North Carolina. The smartphone and tablet application, the Department’s newest digital tool designed to meet the data information needs of site selectors and economic developers, provides users the ability to access available real estate opportunities that could accommodate businesses’ plans to expand or locate in North Carolina. The AccessNC™ mobile app is a free download for iPhone and iPad, with Android and BlackBerry Touch versions due out soon.

“This is an innovative new tool for economic development professionals to have access to the latest information about real estate and sites in North Carolina that could be attractive to businesses looking to expand or locate in our state,” said N.C. Commerce Secretary Keith Crisco. “Ultimately, this new application is about providing better services in order to create jobs and business growth in North Carolina.”

Expanding on the capabilities of the state’s web-based information portal for site selectors and economic developers, the AccessNC™ mobile app enables users to save potential locations and create notes for individual buildings and sites. The application also allows users to make and save unique client lists and map driving directions from any location to a building or site. Communication-sharing features include the ability to send links to coworkers and clients as well as one-click functionality to call or email client service managers.

Details about the application as well as screen shots and direct download links are available online through the N.C. Department of Commerce’s economic development website for companies seeking to locate or expand in North Carolina, via the page www.thrivenc.com/accessncmobile.
