Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Ameridial Inc., a provider of contact center services, will expand operations at its facility in Rutherford County. The company plans to create 195 jobs and invest $2.1 million during the next three years in Spindale. The project was made possible in part by a $100,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
“Our investments in education and job training programs have built a skilled workforce that companies know they can depend on,” Gov. Perdue said. “We also have kept a low cost of doing business, all of which has created a top-notch business climate for companies like Ameridial.”
Ameridial, founded in 1987, is a privately held company headquartered in North Canton, Ohio. The company employs more than 800 service and sales professionals at eight centers located in Ohio and North Carolina. Ameridial offers a variety of contact center solutions for both large and mid-size clients, with a focus on the health insurance industry.
Salaries will vary by job function, but the average annual payroll for the new positions will exceed $4.2 million, plus benefits.
“We have been very pleased with the high quality of work being produced from the Spindale office and have decided to expand our operation,” said Mark Schmidt, President of Ameridial. “We are grateful to be awarded this One NC grant which will help us make the office upgrades necessary to bring in new client programs and hire another couple of hundred people in Rutherford County.”
The One NC Fund provides financial assistance, through local governments, to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state. Companies receive no money up front and must meet job creation and investment performance standards to qualify for grant funds. These grants also require and are contingent upon local matches.
North Carolina continues to have a top-ranked business climate. Through Gov. Perdue’s JobsNOW initiative, the state works aggressively to create jobs, train and retrain its workforce, and lay the foundation for a strong and sustainable economic future.
Through use of the One NC Fund, more than 60,000 jobs and $11 billion in investment have been created since 2001. Other partners that helped with this project include: the N.C. Department of Commerce, the N.C. Community Colleges, Rutherford County, Town of Spindale and the Rutherford County Economic Development Commission.
