Skvarla, III and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) announced today that AAIPharma Services Corp./Cambridge Major Laboratories (AAIPharma/CML) is expanding its laboratory operation and global headquarters in Wilmington and will create at least 37 new jobs by 2018. The company will invest at least $15.8 million for lab expansion and a new headquarters over the next three years. Additional jobs and investment are anticipated through 2019.

RALEIGH — Unemployment rates (not seasonally adjusted) decreased in all 100 of North Carolina's counties in September. Scotland County had the highest unemployment rate at 10.2 percent while Buncombe County had the lowest at 4.0 percent. All fifteen of the state's metro areas experienced rate decreases. Among the Metro areas, Rocky Mount at 8.0 percent experienced the highest rate and Asheville had the lowest rate at 4.3 percent. The September not seasonally adjusted statewide rate was 5.4 percent.

Skvarla III and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. announced today that Magneti Marelli Powertrain USA LLC will expand one of its plants located in Lee County and plans to create 76 new jobs over the next three years. The company plans to invest $12 million in the city of Sanford over two years.

The company plans to invest $9 million there through the end of 2016.

The specialty pharmaceutical company develops and manufactures branded and generic products globally, in addition to providing contract development and manufacturing services. Mayne Pharma plans to add 110 jobs and invest $65 million in a new oral dose manufacturing facility and equipment during the next five years.

The project will create 72 jobs at the company’s facility in Kinston, along with a capital investment of $4.5 million over three years.
